San Francisco, CA: October 10, 2025 – Vibram, the maker of high-performance rubber outsoles, is working with MarkScout to find and remove counterfeit products and fake advertising of its brand online. Footwear and apparel are consistently among the most counterfeited product categories in the OECD and EUIPO's studies of global trade in fakes.
A counterfeit sole is more than a lost sale. Poor-quality rubber can fail on wet rock or a steep trail, and a customer who is injured by a fake will not know the difference between the original and the copy.
MarkScout's program monitors marketplaces, social media shops and independent websites for listings that use the brand name, product images or logos without permission, and files takedown requests with platforms, hosts and payment providers.
“Customers who buy a product with a trusted name expect the safety and quality that go with it. Taking fakes down quickly keeps that promise,” says Hannah Fletcher, marketing and events manager at MarkScout.
