San Francisco, CA: June 3, 2026 – MarkScout has added price monitoring to its brand protection platform. The new capability tracks the advertised prices of products across marketplaces and retailers and flags listings that diverge sharply from authorised prices.
Unusually low prices are one of the strongest indicators of counterfeit and diverted goods. AARP's 2025 survey found that 39% of adults had been defrauded after buying through an online ad, where a discount was often the hook.
Price data also helps brands manage legitimate channels. It shows which authorised sellers are breaching pricing policies, which listings drive down value and where an unauthorised seller is operating across several storefronts.
“A price is data you can act on. It tells you where to look first, and it supports the conversation with a platform or a distributor,” says Daniel Hartley, Chief Revenue Officer at MarkScout.
