San Francisco, CA: June 10, 2026 – MarkScout has appointed a Vice President of Global Policy and Industry Development to lead its engagement with ICANN, governments, registries and industry bodies. The role was created as policy decisions in the domain industry increasingly shape what brand owners can see, enforce and register.
Several files are moving at once: the 2026 round of new generic top-level domains, policy development work on DNS abuse mitigation, access to non-public registration data, and the contractual DNS abuse requirements that have applied to registries and registrars since April 2024.
The new vice president will represent client interests in these discussions, translate policy changes into practical guidance and run MarkScout's participation in the ICANN community.
“Decisions taken in policy forums end up on our clients' desks months later as new fees, new data rules or new abuse procedures. Having a dedicated voice in those rooms is part of protecting a brand,” says Daniel Hartley, Chief Revenue Officer at MarkScout.
