London, UK: April 15, 2026 – MarkScout is adding several new threat-intelligence sources to its phishing detection, covering email, SMS and QR-code campaigns as well as web-based attacks. The additional data lets analysts see a campaign earlier and link seemingly separate sites to the same operator.
The change reflects how phishing has evolved. APWG counted about 3.8 million phishing attacks in 2025, and described a shift from email toward social media, text messages and QR codes, with business email compromise causing some of the largest losses.
Combining feeds with MarkScout's own domain and certificate monitoring lets analysts confirm a malicious site faster and send complete, evidence-backed takedown requests to hosts and registrars.
“The fastest takedowns come from the cases where we can show a registrar exactly how a site connects to a campaign. Broader data makes that possible,” says Marcus Whitfield, cybersecurity and digital risk intelligence expert at MarkScout.
