ICANN's Board adopted all 35 recommendations from the first phase of the review of rights protection mechanisms in January 2022. Those recommendations are now being put into practice for the 2026 round: ICANN consulted on updated Trademark Clearinghouse requirements between 18 December 2025 and 27 January 2026, including a change that sends disputes over the validity of a trademark record in a Sunrise registration to the Clearinghouse's own dispute procedure.
