Hannah Fletcher and Marcus Whitfield report from the ICANN82 Community Forum, held in Seattle from 8 to 13 March 2025, and explain the impact on brand enforcement.
DNS abuse was again a main theme, with business users, registries and registrars discussing why abuse reports succeed or fail. A working group published guidance to help reporters write effective reports, and registrars began to explore a possible DNS abuse flag in registration data. It was also the first meeting for ICANN's new CEO, Kurtis Lindqvist.
