Marcus Whitfield reports from ICANN81, the 2024 Annual General Meeting, held in Istanbul from 9 to 14 November 2024. About 2,000 people attended in person, the highest attendance at any ICANN public meeting since 2019, and the community welcomed ICANN's incoming President and CEO, Kurtis Lindqvist.
The agenda included the next round of new gTLDs, ICANN's next five-year Strategic Plan and the review of the World Summit on the Information Society.
